Sonic Heroes - Special Stages

To access the true ending of Sonic Heroes, you need to get the Chaos Emeralds. To do this, you need to access the special stages, gotten by picking up a key in the level to the end of the level without hitting any enemy. You also have to do it in the second stage of each world. Finding the keys can be annoying, so I'm writing this to help you get the keys.

You can get the emeralds with any team in any order. So you can get 5 of them with Team Rose and 2 with Team Chaotix. It makes no difference so long as you get each one once. You can tell if you have gotten the emerald by going to the Challenge page and seeing if there is an emerald icon on the second stage of the world.

Team Sonic

Ocean Palace

πŸ— after the loopy bit at the start, next to the two spaceships, the key is in plainview

checkpoint 2 - past the part where you have to flip the two arrows and then its between the two rails with the rhino trains
checkpoint 3 - past the swirly rails you have to choose between fly and speed

checkpoint 4 - after the bobsled and the rail

Lost Jungle

πŸ—key 1: take the normal route. below the gray spiky guy there is a key past black frog
checkpoint 1: past the first black frog
checkpoint 2: past a bunch of springs and those FLY sections
πŸ—past one of the black frogs when you defeat a purple enemy and there is a caged bud, turn around
checkpoint 3: past the caged bud
checkpoint 4: past the robot and before a spiny flower
checkpoint 5: before the frog in front of the vine

Mystic Mansion

if you have the team sonic power, you can destroy the impregnable robot

starting from the save state where you have the key, go to the room with the fan and make sure to go back and get the 20 ring. that will give you the team blast

so in the previous room where you have to face the 4 robots, use the team blast and then go to the next room, get in tails mode, and destroy

πŸ— in the final checkpoint, climb up the platform and then fly as tails. there is a key in a flying cage. use tails thunder shoot to knock them down.

Final Fortress

Past the golden guy with the laser gate, there is a check point

πŸ— You can also find a key after the two big robots where you get on the rail and there is a very long horizontal platform.
