I'm going through Pokemon Platinum, and collecting notes that are of use to me - and may be of use to someone else!

Miscellaneous

If you are using MelonDS to play the game, Floroama city's flowers will slow down the FPS. Turn on JIT compilation.

Eterna city condominium top floor has an insane long studio apartment with the bed on one side, a tv in the middle, and then the kitchen at the end. (Bathroom is presumably shared between tenants?) Horrible apartment layout, housing prices must be insane in Eterna City.

Unlike Pokemon RSE, you can have trainers who just walk around aimlessly and challenge you on sight in DPP?!

Pokemon

Kriketot

• Kriketune can learn Rock Smash and Fury Cutter.
• If you can get past Kriketot's annoying early reliance on bide, it's pretty good for the first few gyms.

Abra

• Catch a Machop and trade for an Abra in Oreburg.
• Found Route 215
• Abra will not learn any other moves until it evolves into Kadabra at lv 16
• Be careful: By default, traded Pokemon up to level 10 will obey you in this game. This means that leveling up Abra to Kadabra will cause it to start disobeying you. If this happens, you will need to defeat Gardenia at Eterna city to get it to obey, since the second badge will up the max obedience level to 30. Traded Pokemon earn more exp, so it is not too difficult to over-level them.

Shinx

• Found Route 204 (near Floaroma)
• EV Yield: 1 attack
• Shinx learns spark at level 13.
• Shinx will evolve at level 15
• The shinx on Route 204 here will know Charge but not know any electric atacks, so they'll use charge... but not any electric attacks that would benefit from it. Funny!

Starly

• Found Route 204 (near Floaroma)
• EV Yield: 1 Speed
• Starly learns wing attack at lv 9 and double team at 13
• Starly evolves at 14
• Staravia can be found Route 209 (Hearthome)

Zubat

• Found Ravaged Path (near Floaroma)
• Zubat learns bite at 13 and wing attack at 17
• confuse ray at 21
• Evolves into Golbat at 22

Psyduck

• Found Ravaged Path (near Floaroma)

Shellos

• Found at Valley Windworks, Route 205 (near Floaroma)
• EV Yield: 1 HP

Budew

• Found at Route 204 (near Floaroma), 208 (near Hearthrome), Eterna Forest, Route 205
• EV Yield: 1 Sp Atk
• Evolves into Roselia when leveled up with high friendship during the day
• Roselia can be found at Route 20

Bidoof

• Found at Route 204 (near Floaroma), 205 (near Floaroma), 208 (Hearthrome)
• EV Yield: 1 HP
• Bibarel can be found at Route 208, Route 209 (Hearthome)

Buizel
